When the Newton First Aid squad recently replaced ambulance 3651, the Newton Fire Department purchased the old ambulance and converted it to a traffic control unit. Traffic 806 is used to control traffic during major accidents and other large incidents that require traffic diversion or road closure.

Traffic 806 carries safety cones, road flares, reflective vests, and other miscellaneous types of equipment used by the Newton Fire Police.
